The York Fair

We went to the York Fair with the kids last week and they were kinda blah about it.
They did like the smoothies:

They decided they did not want to be in the stroller but didn't want to be held either. I think Bella was annoyed with us for not letting her run free

The one thing they really like was the Carousel. I had to fight to hold Bella on my lap as she would not ride a horse. After the first round she was saying "More, more" we went once more but I don't think my stomach would have been able to handle much more
If you look hard, in the background is Jack with Jason's Mom and Connor. Jack liked the horses

Random things:

We also got stickers in the mail for Highlight magazine (which made me smile because I remember Grandmom getting that for me) and I gave Jack the stickers to play with
(please don't mind his messy face or lack of pants)

He is trying me again these days... he stood up on the chair and I told him to sit down. So he did. On top of the chair

A couple of reasons why I have been so darn busy:
1) I have been busy making shirts, here are some of the things I have done:

these are some of the characters from Yo Gabba Gabba

2) I got a job!! I am a "Parenting Specialist". I kind of have to laugh at the title but I will be teaching parenting classes, covering all different topics, different evenings through out York. It is really part time, which I wanted, but it allows me to stay home with the kids and still watch the girls I do now, plus extra $$

3) My back... my back has really been hurting lately. I have been to the chiropractor for months now. I have done oral steroids and epidural injections. I have taken anti-inflammatories and pain pills. With all I have gotten minimal long term results. I have a disc in my low back that is ruptured and herniated. I am having surgery on the 28th for it. I will be able to come home that day and it is the "easiest back surgery" that this doctor does. What gets me more than anything is that I will not be able to pick up the kids for about 3 weeks. I am very fortunate to have a mother and a mother-in-law who are more than willing to help out when they can so along with Jason, they are all going to be here taking care of the kids while I get caught up on crappy day time TV.

So wish me luck with all of the above :)

I love you Grandmom!!

"It won't be like this forever, I promise"

I have had a heck of a morning. I hear the kids so I go in and get them up. I get Bella up and she always runs out of the room. I get Jack up and change his diaper and let him loose and then go to do the same for Bella. Jack was taking forever this morning but I got him ready and came out to get Bella and I see her in a pool of maple syrup on the kitchen floor. ugh. I was so sick of eating egg whites this morning that I heated up some pancakes and I must not put the syrup out of reach.

This was what was left after I took her jammies off and cleaned her up

She just went and read, all sweet and innocent

I knew I wanted to mop my floor this morning.
Okay clean them up, clean the floor up, get them ready to go run errands. We make it to the post office and when we stop Jack throws up all over himself. Great. (he randomly gets car sick). okay, clean him up, the car seat up and roll the windows down. Load them up in the stroller and carry this big package I am mailing. I am pushing the stroller with one hand and almost dropped the package with the other. A woman in a mini-van stops and asks if I need help. I told her that I will be fine and thanked her. She then told me "It won't be like this forever, I promise. Somedays it may seem like that but it won't" and she smiled and drove off. She was what I needed. Good days and bad days, they won't be like this forever... I will not miss the temper tantrums but I will miss the hugs and sloppy kisses. I will not miss diapers but I will miss the cuddles and the excitement when they see me. I won't miss the fact that it takes 45 minutes to run into Target to pick up one item but I will miss how excited the kids get over such small things. It is such a crazy thing being a mother.

Busy....

that has been my life these past couple of weeks, crazy actually. I kinda thought that things would calm a little after their birthday party, I was wrong. But it is a good crazy and I just wanted to update and let you know that we are all doing well. Jack and Bella are doing really well... they are loving the nice weather and we are outside A LOT.
----
Here are some pictures of their actual birthday.
We went to a play area and they could climb and jump on everything... Jack just thought this was the coolest

He would climb to the top of things and yell "Woah" and "wow"... I think he was in love

They went on those mechanical cars and things

Bella got scared and did not last the full time

We ended the play experience with a cookie and that made everything right in their world

I will try to catch up more later this week!

They were just monkeying around....

Jack and Bella had their 2nd Birthday Party yesterday and can I just say that the weather was beautiful! 75 and partly sunny (okay, it wasn't perfect, the wind was wicked. We had to take down the easy-up because it was blowing it in half almost. Also twice when kids were not in the bounce house we had to catch it because it tried to fly away. I am not complaining though).
Get ready for some pictures because there are a lot:
The theme was monkeys so we had chocolate monkey cupcakes

and than banana cupcakes with cream cheese icing

Jason was such a good sport. On Thursday night he sat beside me with glue stick in hand to help me make the monkey cups
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
the other food I will highlight was the chocolate covered marshmallows... they were pretty fun to make and very tasty to eat
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
See Bella liked them

I tried to get a picture of the 4 of us before any of us got too messy (and I am glad I did because the kids got dirty quick)
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Bella loves Jason's friend Jeremy (Jack does too for that matter) and he chased her
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
and she would run and squeal in delight

Jeremy's son Cole enjoying the "roller coaster"

There were a total of 8 kids here and 30 ish adults and all of the kids played so well together, it made me so happy to see my kids so happy.
Jack hanging out in the playhouse

Jack also like the chocolate covered marshmallows

All the kids loved the pinata
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
this is a pinata that you pull a string and the lucky string is what makes all of the candy fall out. Bella found the magic string

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Bella did not want the candy just the jewelry (I am teaching her right)
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
They then played in the bounce house some more. I will say that all of the children were so well behaved. None of them fought which I just thought was amazing!
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Bella sampled many cupcakes

Jack shared well with Jason
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
then he just got plain messy
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
They opened a couple of presents
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Bella had to make sure all of her jewels fit
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Bella had one more slice of watermelon
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Make sure you don't take her watermelon... she would give up her cupcake but not her watermelon
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
and then just kind of relaxed in her house
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Again they had a wonderful night! I am so happy that so many were able to come out to help Bella and Jack celebrate their birthday.

P.S. I have some pictures of their actual birthday to share at another time but I just have to post two... Bella loves shoes
She kicked off her comfy crocs to put on her new heeled shoes
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Even once she had her footed pajamas on she HAD to have her shoes on. She did not get her love of heels from me.
