Who needs toys???

Not Bella and Jack apparently. Mom came over last month and made us dinner for my birthday (roast chicken.... yummm. How is it that your mom's cooking is always 10 times better than you can make??) Anyway we were cleaning up and Mom gave Bella and Jack some new "toys"
the roasting lid and the potato masher:

Jack loved the whisk

Bella carried the lid with her where ever she went....

and then she figured the ultimate way to keep it from Jack

Don't I have some cute kids??? It is a rhetorical question because I already know the answer.

Happy 85th Birthday Grandmom!!!!!

It is days like these that make me miss NJ so terribly much. I wish that I could be there to help Grandmom celebrate her birthday. But we are here so I will call her today and get to hear her voice which is the next best thing. I remember two years ago on this day Jason and I drove to NJ to surprise Grandmom on her birthday and to let her know I was pregnant. (we didn't know yet that it was twins).... what a difference a couple of years can make.
Well anyway Jack and Bella wanted to make sure that their Great-Grandmother knew how much they love her:
All of this just to say "Happy Birthday Great Grandmom"

It will be much easier when they can talk
Then we sang Happy Birthday to her

Jack just yelled a lot but he really put some feeling into it
Lastly we put on our party hats to celebrate

Now they just want to know where the cake is....

Jack and Bella are both doing well. I can not believe how big Bella is getting, she has almost an inch on Jack. Their hair is getting so red... when we brought them to the gym daycare the other day a lady made a comment on their red hair. It is slowly getting darker and it just amazes me... so not only are they twins like Grandmom they may just have her red hair too. (Now if they just have her talent, personality, and charm we will be set)
Bella can now say "baby" "ball" and "moo"... she is a genius! Jack still just talks Chinese but he can slam dunk a basketball like no one's business!
I will have to try to figure out how to get video on here.....
-------
Well I better run and clean up from breakfast and get the rest of the day going. But Happy Happy Birthday to the most wonderful woman in the world!!!

Enough Snow Already!!

We have more snow right now then I have ever seen in my lifetime! It is crazy! We got about 2 feet on Saturday and another 2 feet yesterday! The wind is wicked and it is creating drifts, some as high as Jason. Jason had to dig out an area for Molson to go pee, the snow is as tall as he is. We kept saying that there was too much snow to go out in as it far taller than the kids. We decided today to brave it and take them outside, it was so much fun!!
Get ready for a bunch of pictures ....
Here are some of just the snow around the house:

We have been trying for over two months now to get a sled for the kids. They have not had them in the stores so we have one from when Jason was a kid. We got inventive and used a laundry basket with a dog leash for a handle. For going down the hills we used an extra toddler mattress (it is water proof and slides great)... yes we are fancy people.

Of course Molson enjoyed himself too:

All in all though both Jack and Bella had a great time. I figured we would be outside for about 20 minutes at the most. It turns out because we were playing in our driveway the tall mounds piled up on the sides blocked the winds from the kids and they didn't really notice the wind much. Bella did not want to go in and cried. Once we got them in though it was nap time and they were asleep in about 10 seconds... I love the snow! (I am sure I will take back that statement when I have to go out in it next)

Check out Jack's awesome hat and mittens:

This picture pretty much sums up Bella's reaction to the snow.... she was running yelling "wee"... she says that when she is happy

Jason's parents came up to play and both Jack and Bella were sitting in the skid loader... Jason said he is going to teach them how to use it soon so they can plow the driveway. I told him that it was fine by me, if Jack can use it then he will be able to go to work with him

Another reason why Jack is just like his Daddy....

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I was doing the dishes and cleaning up and Jack was quiet.... too quiet. I was a little afraid. Then the poor thing was asleep in his chair. He was so peaceful. I tried tried to wake him up and he did not want to get up. Jason is just like this. He can fall asleep anywhere! I use to have to take sleeping pills to get to sleep and there was Jason asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.
Two more pictures of my cutie:

He is such a thumb sucker now.

Bella has crazy hair!!

Bella's hair is getting longer now and she has curls some times and some times not. It can be frizzy, just depends on the day. What excites me about her having longer hair is that I can give her pig tails... yes that is what excites me nowadays!! Well anyway, poor Bella looks a little crazy at the end of the day when you take her hair out of the ponytail holder and it sticks straight out... like literally straight out and stays like that. She has reminded me of both Kramer from Seinfeld and Ace Ventura.

and no I didn't do anything to her hair in the bottom picture

Most evenings both Jack and Bella get this burst of energy at around 7:30 and they run like crazy and do everything in super speed. They can climb the climber is a single bound when it normally takes some pulling and stretching to get on. They chase each other and everything is about 10 times funnier to them. Bella's hair only adds to the amusement of what has become our evenings. It makes me realize how fortunate I am.

Again the talent astounds me...

My Grandmother completely and totally rocks... I mean she is literally the most talented person I know. She made Bella and Jack sweaters for Christmas and they look so cute in them!
Get ready to melt just a little because here is the cutest boy in the world

I mean I know I am biased because he is my son but come on... is he not super cute???
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Bella was NOT in the mood to model that day and just wanted to leave... I forget where we were going, probably to the grocery store or Target, you know something glamourous ....

Here is the best I have from Bella that day...

------
Nothing else new really going on here. The two little girls that I babysit for have the nasty stomach bug so they haven't been here for a week. Just as Jack and Bella were getting use to having friends here. They were having a rough go of it the first day or two then they really enjoyed having them here. I am sure when they come back on Thursday we will be back at square one. Oh well.
Jason and I have been doing really well with getting our butts to the gym. I took 2nd place in the Biggest Loser competition last week, so I was happy about that.

They love each other!

Jack has always been fond of Bella and well Bella could do without Jack half of the time. It seems like they are really starting to play with each other....
The one day they were sitting there on the floor playing and Jack got a little close to Bella
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
and then my heart melted into a big pool of goo.... they kissed each other (kinda)
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
then they just decided it would be fun to roll over each other

Well Bella really just rolled on Jack but they both thought that it was hilarious!
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
They took a break for all of a minute to throw more toys everywhere
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
but then decided that it was more fun to roll
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
they were so cute that day. I LOVE when they laugh together. It makes all the hard times worth it.
